African Entrepreneurs - Successful And Responsible

April 13, 2012

They hardly sleep, don’t know the word leisure, but they still love their job and are committed to the societies they live in. That’s what all African business men and women introduced in this series have in common.

In this program, we present entrepreneurs from Africa who are particularly good in their profession and after a long way ended up as successful business people. We will visit a toy producer in South Africa, a toilet revolutionist in Kenya, a Sudanese telecommunication tycoon in London and many more. They did not only make their career but also pay back to the society in one way or the other.

Our entrepreneurs speak openly about challenges on their way up the social ladder, the obstacles they faced as well as what kept them motivated. Their stories and experiences will show the listeners how to become self-employed and what opportunities it brings - not only for the personal development but also for the economical growth of the own nation.

Deutsche Welle’s Learning by Ear is available in six languages: English, Kiswahili, French, Hausa, Portuguese and Amharic.
