André Schürrle talks to DW

London, Autumn 2014. It's been two months since Germany won the World Cup final 1-0, thanks to an assist by André Schürrle. It was the biggest moment in the career of the 23-year-old, who plays for Premiership side Chelsea. In his first season in England, Schürrle had a bit of trouble establishing himself. Now he returns as a world champion.

Schürrle tells us about his childhood, his friendship with Mario Götze and of course the pass that helped decide the World Cup final: "You try to take it in, but it all goes by in a flash." An interview with a young man who has won football's ultimate prize - on this Kick Off Special.
